To colour code the fabrics I used the numbers of the solved puzzle. These are some of the materials I gathered and intent to use:

I already combined some materials:
 organza with silver blobs covering blue fabric |
 bobbin work with thick silver thread (Superior's Razzle Dazzle 263) |

This is such a cool idea! I love Sudoku, I never thought of using it to make quilts. Think of the possibilities :)
