The first butterfly
Inspired by Spring I made "The first butterfly", my journal quilt for march:
All done by machine, it is a combination of raw edge applique (stem, leaves and butterfly), needle turn applique (flower) and reversed applique (medaillon with tulip). I also tried some thread painting on the leaves, stem and butterfly. Inspired by the journal I made this Haiku:
