Dyeing experiment: threads

Although I don't know how to avoid the tangling from the threads during the final wash-out, I am very happy with the results:
mercerized cotton

The threads were pre-soaked in a soda solution for 20-30 minutes.
I used a direct application technique with plastic squirt bottles filled with Procion MX dyes.
For the application the threads layed on plastic film.
The size of the plastic film was big enough to wrap the threads in so they could be left to cure overnight.
