Red Delicious 1: Lovebirds

These blocks of the month (BOM) are designed by Esther Aliu.
Lovebirds is the name of block number one of the block of the month mystery called Red Delicious. Red Delicious is for free and you can find it on Esther Aliu's weblog
Starting this month, Esther will publish each month on the 15th one of the eleven blocks she has designed.
After seeing the Lovebirds block I couldnot resist making this, although I never did needle-turn applique before:

If you are interested in joining the Red Delicious Mystery BOM then you have to hurry! The Lovebirds block will be replaced on the 15th by block number two. I almost cannot wait for the next block, because I am enjoying my first time big applique project.
I am practicing some of the techniques I learned from Ricky Tims DVD "Grand Finale".
I also tryed out some bobbinwork with Ricky's Razzle Dazzle thread (color 263).
