Lucky me, my "Green Genie" has been selected by the Dutch Quiltersguild as one of the nine Dutch quilts for the EQA (European Quilt Association) suitcase collection.
Update August 2010:
[quote]
A suitcase collection is made up of quilts made by members of the EQA-countries. The quilts are brought together at the annual meeting of the International Representatives of all the member countries. They are then divided into mixed sets. Each International Representative then takes a collection back to her own country usually in a suitcase!
[end quote]
She will be part of the new collection from the seventeen member countries of the EQA.
The quilts will travel to the other member countries over the following years.
The first country "Green Genie" will attend is the UK during the Festival Of Quilts from 19th to 22nd August in Birmingham.
Regretfully I am not able to travel with her, but if you see her could you please take her picture and e-mail it to me?
It will be great fun to see how she is doing abroad!
I already gave a sneak peek, but this is how she looked the last time, hanging in the garden:
