tip: free Talking Threads shows


Talking Threads is a new 10 part series of programmes about Textile Art from the UK. The first 9 programmes are focused on interviews and workshops from 9 leading contemporary textile artists in Britain.

The final programme is filmed at Missenden Abbey Summer School and the Festival of Quilts at the NEC Birmingham. The aim of Talking Threads is to educate and inspire the audience to get stitching.

The series features a brilliant range of textile artists including Jill Kennedy, Angie Hughes, Gilda Baron and Kim Thittichai who teach regularly at Rainbow Silks, along with Linda Miller, Anne Griffiths, Fay Maxwell, Myfanwy Hart and Di Wells.

The series is scheduled to be aired mid-October 2009 on MyChannel (Sky 171).
It will also be available online from Oct 14th at http://www.countrychannel.tv.

  1. Thanks for the link. I had an email from Rainbow Silks about it but was viewing on my old laptop last night and couldn't get the taster video to work. I have now viewed it and it looks like being a good programme.
