Red Delicious 2: Nightshade

Nightshade is the name of block number two of the Block Of the Month mystery called Red Delicious. For the connection of the leaves to the stem I used Ricky's Razzle Dazzle thread (color 263), but doubled the bobbinwork to let it look more pronounced. All applique pieces are needleturned with the use of Ricky Tims stable stuff as foundation.
The circles at the end of the petals have double stable stuff in them, so they will appear more full after washing. As you may know the stable stuff will not be stiff anymore after washing, and will give an extra dimension to the applique.
This is the result:

Thank you for reading, I hope you like the BOM as much as I do and have the time to join too! And if you already joined, I love to see a picture of the blocks you made. And to you and your loved ones:

Merry Christmas

P.S.
These blocks of the month (BOM) are designed by Esther Aliu.
Red Delicious is for free and you can find it on Esther Aliu's weblog.
Each month on the 15th Esther will publish one of the eleven blocks she has designed. If you are interested in joining the Red Delicious Mystery BOM then you have to hurry!
The Nightshade block will be replaced on the 15th by block number three.
